How to store and protect your sealed Pokémon TCG products
A sealed product is only as good as its condition. Crushed corners, torn wrap or faded colors all hurt the look, and the value, of a collection. A few simple habits make a real difference.
Keep them away from light and heat
Direct sunlight fades printed boxes surprisingly fast, and heat can warp cardboard and make shrink wrap brittle. Store your products in a room with a stable temperature, away from windows and radiators.
Control humidity
Humidity is the enemy of cardboard and cards. Avoid basements, attics and garages. A dry, lived-in room is ideal, and a few silica gel packets in a closed cabinet or storage bin help keep things stable.
Never stack too high
Weight crushes boxes over time. Store booster boxes and ETBs upright or in short stacks, and never put heavy items on top. Keep blisters flat so the cardboard backing does not bend.
Use protective cases
Acrylic or rigid plastic cases protect corners and wrap from knocks and dust, and they look great on a shelf. They are well worth it for the pieces you care about most.
Handle with care
Hold boxes by their sides, not their corners, and avoid sliding them across surfaces: this is how shrink wrap gets scuffed and torn. If you want to keep the original shipping protection, store the product in it.
At Card Dream, every order leaves in a sturdy box with bubble wrap and corner protectors, so your products arrive ready for the shelf.
