Sealed boxes and booster packs on a wooden desk

Booster Box, ETB or Bundle: which sealed product should you choose?

Pokémon TCG sealed products come in many formats, and each one suits a different kind of collector. Here is what you get in each, and how to choose.

Booster Box

The classic. An English booster box (or display) holds 36 booster packs from a single expansion. It is the format of choice for collectors who want to open a large part of a set, or keep a sealed box of a set they love. Note that special sets such as Scarlet & Violet—151 or Prismatic Evolutions were never released as booster boxes.

Elite Trainer Box (ETB)

An ETB usually contains 9 booster packs, a promo card, card sleeves, dice, markers and a sturdy storage box. Pokémon Center editions add extra packs and an exclusive stamped promo. ETBs display beautifully and are the most popular sealed format to collect.

Booster Bundle

Six booster packs in a compact box, with no extras. A simple way to open a special set without buying a larger collection.

Blisters, tins and collection boxes

  • 3-pack blisters: three packs, a promo card and a coin.
  • Mini tins: two packs in a small collectible tin.
  • Collection boxes: packs plus exclusive promo cards, often with a jumbo card, a playmat or a pin. Premium and Ultra-Premium Collections are the top of the range.

How to choose

To open packs, look at the price per pack: booster boxes and bundles are usually the most efficient. To collect sealed, pick formats that display well and that you genuinely like: ETBs and premium collections. And for a gift, a collection box with a visible promo card always makes an impression.
