How to spot a resealed or fake sealed product
As sealed Pokémon TCG products have become collectibles, resealed and counterfeit products have appeared on resale platforms. A few checks will protect you.
Look at the wrap
Factory shrink wrap is tight, clean and even, with neat seams. English booster boxes are wrapped in film printed with Poké Ball logos. Loose or cloudy wrap, melted or irregular seams, and excess glue are all warning signs.
Check the box itself
Compare the product with official photos: colors, fonts, logos and the position of each element. Counterfeit boxes often have blurry printing, washed-out colors or spelling mistakes. Dented flaps and lifted glue points can indicate that a box has been opened and closed again.
Be careful with prices that are too good
A sought-after product offered far below the usual price is rarely a bargain. Take the time to check the seller, their reviews and their return policy.
Check the packs if you open the product
Booster packs should have clean, straight crimps at both ends, with no signs of glue or re-crimping. Inside, cards should have the right texture, a sharp print and the correct back.
The source matters most
The surest protection is where you buy. Card Dream sources its products exclusively from official distributors, and every product we ship is authentic and factory-sealed.
